Unlike other Islamic financial companies we have approached the Sharia compliance of our products in three ways.

Firstly, we have taken advice from world-wide respected scholars of the Islamic tradition. In particular Shaykh Abdullah Bin Bayah and Shaykh Hamza Yusuf Hanson on the Sharia and ethical principles of our corporate mission.

Secondly, we debate with Muslim clerics around the UK on the relevance of the products to the needs of their congregations in their areas.

And thirdly, we leave it to you to decide. Just as you decide on a daily basis when you dine out on whether the  meat is halal and trust the  shopkeeper. Cordoba  leaves it to your own personal trust in the product and the values that we espouse.

In our opinion we feel that the Cordoba Gold prepaid MasterCard is Sharia compliant because -

We earn no interest from customers deposits

We ensure that all aspects of the card are explained upfront as fully as possible

We return a proportion of our profits back into the community
